Our group, because we are very interested in sports will make a brochure about byu athletics aimed at non mormon students. Our audience for this brochure will be all non-lds athletes who have interest in playings sports in college. We thought of several different topics before coming up with this decision. I wanted to do the option of just general academics. I wanted to show off all of byu's great academic departments and put in their rewards and honors, which would really show off byu's great academic success. We later decided that we all know a lot about the athletic programs at byu and that make for the best brochure and it's something we have a lot of interest in. We decided we could get a lot of pictures from the different athletic facilities that would attract these athletes. Coloful pictures and creative wording will be the most effective.
Audience is so important when writing anything whether it is an editorial or research paper. If you can't think of who the audience is, there is no way to write the article to target that group and completely defeats the purpose. Audience can be a deciding factor when an author is deciding what tone or voice he will be using for a paper. I learned in this class that before writing anything, the audience must be completely clear. You need to have a distinct audience before writing a paper.
